Linkedin has announced the fifth edition of India’s Power Profiles 2017. The power profiles are selected in 7 categories viz. Influencers, CEO’s, Finance, Marketing and Advertising, Technology, Human Resources and Internet.

Startup Founders appeared with Narendra Modi and Priyanka Chopra

Almost in all the sectors chosen by Linkedin, Startup magic seems to be at its acme! In the influencer category Shradha Sharma (Your Story founder) and Mahesh Murthy (Founder Pinstorm) appeared with celebrities like Priyanka Chopra and Leaders like Narendra Modi.

Leaders like Shashi Tharoor and Kailash Satyarthi also shouldered in the list. What is interesting to witness is the change in professional arena, where leaders of international fame stood equivalent to Startup founders. This change attributes to the power of MSME in India.

3 Out of 6 most influencing CEO’s are from Startup

Out of the top 6 profiles of the CEO’s in India, three of the CEO’s are from Startups viz. Manu Kumar Jain (CEO, Xiaomi India), Kunal Bahl (CEO, Snapdeal) and Vijay Shekhar Sharma (CEO, Paytm). All of the CEO’s have paced their organisations to remain worthwhile to their consumers in the fast changing space of Mobile Manufacturing, Digital Payments and Ecommerce Industry in the country.

Finance too was overwhelmed by Startup Founders.

One of the most influential segments to have attracted millions of dollars in 2017 from Investors was ‘Finance’. While the industry saw an upsurge post demonetisation the founders who rose the company from zilch to multi-million-dollar enterprises also claimed their positions in the professional fraternity. Adil Shetty (CEO – Bankbazaar.com), Jitendra Gupta (Founder – Citrus Pay) and Manav Jeet (Founder and CEO, Rubique) were the ones to appear in the list.

Startup Founders claimed 2 out of top 3 positions in Marketing and Advertising

Arun Pattabhiraman (Vice President & Global Head Of Marketing – InMobi) ranked on the first position while Rajiv Dhingra from Wat Consult stood at 3rd position. The other clan was majorly from the Media Agency segment and involved senior professionals who had been into branding and marketing since the inception of digital space. The digital and innovative ways to market and advertise is slowly getting ahead of traditional ways to do Brand Advertising. Programmatic Media, Google and Facebook Ads claims 75-80% of the Ad Budgets of some of the largest brands on Earth!

Technology remain painted with Startups.

Tech Startups had the larger pie in the Startup space and hence in the same proportion when it comes to the popularity of some of the leading Tech Startup Founders. Girish Mathrubootham (Founder & CEO – Freshdesk) led the space with Taru Kapoor (Head -Tinder India), Harshil Mathur (CEO and Founder, Razor Pay) and Bipin Preet Singh (Mobikwik).

Internet had all Startup Founders except leaders from Amazon and Facebook

Some of the leading faces which topped the charts are Alok Rodinhood Kejriwal (Co-Founder and CEO – Games2win India Pvt. Ltd), Ashish Kashyap (Founder and CEO – Redbus), Kunal Shah (Founder – Freecharge), Amarjeet Singh Batra (CEO, OLX India) and Ashish Shah (Founder, Pepperfry)
