With Uber still struggling to add payment options and fix the pesky bugs on its app, Ola seems to be in a hurry to get away with its feature roadmap excelling in Indian context. While the consumer travels one of the preferred choice is entertainment on the go. Looking at the big demand and success of Ola play (available for Ola Prime and Go Users) Ola has tied up with Yupp TV on its platform Ola Play to bring in the TV entertainment on the go.
Speaking on the development Ola Play Head Ankit Jain said “Coming together with the ecosystem and partnering with innovative OTT platforms such as YuppTV play a huge role in our efforts to keep the experience seamless and relevant for our customers. With this partnership, Ola Play brings LIVE TV inside a cab for the first time, by leveraging OTT services of YuppTV to bring an experience that is easily accessible through the user’s mobile phone as well as the tab mounted in the backseat.”
Yupp TV has more than 300 channels and has bouquet of channels for more than 10 Indian Languages. The company was launched in India in 2015 as an OTT (Over the top) media for people to watch TV content on their internet screen. The company was originally founded by Uday Reddy in 2006 and is headquartered at Atlanta, Georgia and Hyderabad.
On the other hand, Ola also ties up with one of the second most popular OS in India which claims to be sitting at a user base of 8 million, Indus OS. This partnership serves the purpose of Ola to act and look more Indian while it shall come as a boon to the existing community of Indus OS to engage more into a feature they will utilize.
