Finally Uber opens the long awaited Support Center in Bengaluru for Drivers

Since the launch of Uber services in India one of the most common trouble for Uber Drivers was to contact a human voice in the case of any emergency or a sudden trouble. Uber has been occasionally and on and off acknowledging the problem but never had shown the will and the execution to handle it.

Apart from the driver services and assistance Uber should also bring in a 24X7 Customer Service  in place in case if the commuter is looking forward to contact Uber for some assistance during the travel, apart from emergencies. Infact, some of the Industry leaders including the Maketing head of Lufthansa airlines, Alexander Schlaubitz have highlighted this as a critical issue which could bring sustainability crisis for the taxi behemoth in India.

After much criticism and long-awaited action, Uber has finally launched a15,000 sqft Uber India support centre at WTR, Bengaluru. Speaking on the development, Christian Freese, GM, Uber-South India made two long pending official announcements: a) Uber Support Centre or Greenlight Centre to meet the needs of driver-partners, and b) A ride-sharing Insurance programme. “Through the greenlight centre, we are offering in-person assistance to more than 4,000 driver-partners a week. We are continuing to invest in our in-person locations and have launched three other facilities at the Devanhalli, Yeshwantpur and HBR in Bengaluru. These strategic locations will help driver-partners get the most out of their time on the road,” stated Christian.

This center will be also taking in request for Uber’s new plan of financing cars and giving away insurances to the driver’s community. One of leading reasons and USP for Uber in India was to raise the standards of Drivers through insurances and critical care needed for the community to be at ease and could face adverse situations better than before. The company has led many initiatives including  tie with ICICI Lombard Insurance services to bring in insurance services for its Drivers. In accordance to its strategy to strengthen its driver’s related services the company has also invested INR 200 Cr in a car leasing firm to bring this Support Center into effect.

  1. Chitransh still they earn 30-40% commission like ola and dont give share of surge pricing to the driver
