Amod Malviya, ex-CTO of Flipkart, Vaibhav Gupta, former Senior VP at Flipkart founded Startup Udaan raised $10 Mn from Light Speed Ventures. Udaan is a B2B service that helps traders, wholesalers, retailers and manufacturers in India to connect and collaborate through Technology. The website is in its Beta Stage and seems to bring a network of B2B faces to help collaborate and do better for their Businesses.
This segment is intruded by former Management Employees of various E Commerce Behemoths. Recently some of the Startups in the same segment have raised funds to name few: Bizongo – raised $3mn Series A funding from IDG Ventures, WholeSaleBox- Raises $6.5M From Greycroft, Wydr (Founded by Ex ShopClues founding Member) – Raised undisclosed amount from Sandeep Aggarwal, IndustryBuying – INR 60 Cr as Series B from Kalaari Capital in 2015 & INR 12 Cr Debt Financing from Trifecta Capital Tweet This
Confirming the funding, partner at LightSpeed Ventures Bejul Somaia, who will be joining the board of Udaan, said that it is a rare and exciting opportunity to back an experienced team of founders like Sujeet, Amod and Vaibhav, who had worked at Flipkart for several years.
